The Faith of The-Foreigner (Ha-gar)
Confronted by Faith: January through early March (up to Lent) as we are exploring the story of "Abraham". His name means Exalted Father though his actions and lifestyle are quite deplorable. What makes this human someone to notice? A lifelong movement toward a lifestyle confronted by faith in the Highest God, maker heaven and earth.

The timepiece in the First Congregational Church was manufactured by the E. Howard Company Waltham, MA, circa 1860. It was originally a weight driven, pendulum regulated and completely mechanical operating timepiece.
In 1954, most of the original mechanical time and bell strike function components were removed and are now missing. Electrical motors, timers and switches were installed in their place driving the remaining mechanical components. The change in power has slowly caused long-term damage to component parts of the clockworks.
RESTORATION GOAL
ACTION PLAN
Our goal is to restore the E. Howard timepiece back to a weight driven, pendulum regulated mechanical timepiece, as originally designed, with the addition of an automatic winding system for the weights.
Our fundraising goal is $120,000. We are off to a great start with generous donations from our greater Marion community! With proper funding, we hope to relocate the operating timepiece to a lower level for user-friendly access to maintenance and private viewing. A small door will be added on each clockface of the tower for exterior access.
